The description of the course Analysis 2 posted on Campusnet is a good approximation to what you will learn in it: Riemann-Stieltjes integral, convergence of functions, complete theory of elementary and some special functions, differentiation of maps on R^n, and some multivariate integration. It continues on the level of Analysis 1, again focussing on theory, not on the calculus aspect. We cover Rudin (Chapters 6-9), with additional material from Zorich.
Support structure and grading scheme will be continued, with minor changes. The teaching assistant will again be available once a week for a seminar-style Q/A session to help you with homework assignments and provide additional instruction on problem-solving (this includes also proof assignments). I will also be available once a week outside regular class meetings to provide clarification on material discussed in class, or related to reading literature. Given my good experience with oral examinations, I offer the option of an oral (instead of the usual written) final exam.
