  • Irma3D (Intelligent Robot for Mapping Appliactions in 3D). A protoype system of using a Riegl VZ-400 laser scanner on a mobile robot. Please find a picture gallery here.

2007

  • High-Speed Kurt2. A protoype study of using a Kurt2 robot chassi for the indoor race at SICK Robot day in Waldkirch, Germany. This robot won the 2nd place in the indoor slalom competition.

  • MACS project version of Kurt3D.

2006

  • Araneid. A protoype study of using an Araneid King ($29.95) as mobile robot plattform. It has been integrated in our robot server architecture.

  • Fraunhofer AiS ported my 3D mapping algorithms to the teleMAX robot manufactered by Telerob GmbH.

    Kurt3D

2003 - 2009

  • Kurt3D is a small mobile robot KURT-2, manufactured by KTO that is equipped with a custum 3D laser range finder. It enables the robot to map its environment in 3D using 6DOF of the robot pose. The system was tested at RoboCup Rescue Competions and ELROB. See my publication page for more information.

  • Kurt3D as Rescue Robot Version 2006. Jointly developed with RTS University of Hannover and Fraunhofer AiS. The robot in front of Kurt3D is the RTS Crawler.

  • Rescue Robot Version 2005. Jointly developed with RTS University of Hannover and Fraunhofer AiS.

  • Rescue Robot Version 2004. This Robot won the 2nd place in the RobotCup Rescue World Chamionship in Lisbon.

2001 - 2002

  • The Ariadne Robot. It is based on an automatic guided transportation systems produced by Daum und Partner. It was the first robot I've equipped with a 3D laser range finder to produce 3D environment maps. Consult my publication page for more information.
